The ECOWAS Strategy on Youth Employability Project (ECOWAS-YEP), implemented by the Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN), is offering a transformative training opportunity for youth across Nigeria.

This program is designed to empower young Nigerians by integrating them into the organic agri-food value chain. It aims to fight unemployment, promote sustainable agriculture, and reduce irregular migration by building employable skills in agro-based ventures.

Training Modules and Locations

Module 1: General Courses (Compulsory for all participants)

• Location: Online

• Duration: 1 Month

• What You’ll Learn:
• Certification in Organic Agriculture

• Business Plan Development

• Cooperative Formation

• Record Keeping

Module 2: Input Production Training

• Location: Ibadan

• Duration: 2 Months

• Mode: 2 Weeks Onsite + 6 Weeks Online

• Skills Covered:
• Compost Production

• Organic Pesticide Creation

• Liquid Fertilizer Formulation

Module 3: Vegetable, Vines & Yam Set Production

• Location: Umudike, Abia State

• Duration: 5 Months

• Mode: 8 Weeks Onsite + 12 Weeks Online

• Skills Covered:
• Potato Vine Cultivation

• Vegetable Crop Farming

• Yam Set Preparation

Module 4: Sesame & Ginger Value Chain Development

• Location: Zaria

• Duration: 6 Months

• Mode: 8 Weeks Onsite + 16 Weeks Online

• Skills Covered:
• Sesame Cultivation

• Ginger Production

• Value Addition Techniques
